Spiritual Endeavors Speaker
Guidelines Since the purpose of S-E is to facilitate an exchange of information and to encourage discussion among individuals on the many different and varied paths of discovering their own spirituality; and since each individual's path is honored and respected as being appropriate for that individual at this point in time; we ask our guest speakers to please adhere to the following guidelines during their Guest Speaker appearance. We do understand that many speakers and guests have devoted a large portion of their time and energy toward a specific area or understanding. We also understand that deep involvement in a specific area may sometimes lead to a somewhat disciplined or dogmatic approach to that area or understanding. And although that disciplined approach may have been beneficial or even necessary to achieve that deep understanding, we would like to gently remind that not all others share the same passion and devotion. We have found through experience that much more can be accomplished in the areas of sharing information and understandings by keeping the above thoughts in mind. A speaker will find a more receptive audience at S-E and will be able to spend much more time communicating their most important ideas by prefacing these ideas with the simple clarification of "This is my understanding..." or "What I have found to be true on my path is..." By making these simple qualifying statements, we believe that this will allow you more time in discussing the important points of your topic by alleviating any debate from an audience participant who seemingly subscribes to a different basic perception or precept in their belief system. Besides, "I believe the truth of the matter is..." will go much further toward fostering spiritual integrity and universal brotherhood than unequivocally stating "The truth of the matter is..." Many of our speakers provide certain services to the community as a form of earning their living. Some are healers subscribing to various methods or philosophies. Others are gifted in other more intangible ways, and offer readings, channelings, techniques, or private sessions of some kind. We do provide a space for the placement of any literature concerning specific services or seminars that you may offer - as well as space for any tapes, books, videos, etc. that are offered for sale. We would like to take this opportunity to remind our speakers that at Many Paths and The Gatherings, we ask that you please abide by the highest degree of ethical professionalism and integrity and not confuse the speaking engagement with the commercial advertising or marketing of a particular service, product, or philosophy. This may be accomplished through using the space provided for this purpose, during the break, as participants will seek more information from you... and at the conclusion of your presentation, just prior to the break - We will make an announcement for you concerning any upcoming workshops, seminars, private sessions, or items "for sale" that you may offer. We are equipped to handle limited audio/visual needs. (VHS Video and Standard Audio Cassettes as well as CD) If your presentation requires use of the A/V equipment, please notify us at least 2 weeks in advance and plan on arriving early enough for sight and sound checks. Signature ________________________________________ Please arrive at least 25 minutes early to discuss your introduction, any particular needs you may have, & items you may wish to place for free or sale. We also need your approval to the above guidelines. Please sign and bring with you. Thank you. If you have never attended one of S-E's public lectures or meetings, see Gathering information for an accurate account of a typical Gathering, and to assist you in preparing for an enjoyable and fulfilling presentation. The group size ranges from 25 to 50, and dress is casual. Of course, should your schedule permit, we believe that attending Many Paths or a Gathering beforehand would be both an enjoyable experience and a wonderful introduction to a warm and friendly group. (This is also recommended for those booking private workshops or seminars.) Further questions should be directed to web@spiritual-endeavors.org Spiritual Endeavors is
