Spiritual Endeavors TM The Gatherings:
The Gatherings begin promptly at 7 PM with the dimming of lights and a short selection of music, (approximately 3 to 5 minutes). This enables everyone to finish their conversations, grab a quick cup of tea or some other refreshment, or come in from the outside smoking/patio area. This also provides a short period for centering; a time to let the stress of a busy day and the drive over fall away. At the conclusion of the music, the lights come back up to a normal setting, and a short welcome is extended to all. This is usually accomplished by 7:15 p.m. and the speaker or program for the evening is introduced at this point. The Gatherings are arranged quite informally in a circular style seating pattern. Some of our speakers prefer to address the group from a central point within the circle, thus allowing them to make full use of the freedom of movement. Others prefer to remain stationary and speak from a comfortable sitting position. We are equipped to handle certain types of audio and video presentations and when the Topic of the Evening makes use of these devices, the monitors and speakers are placed to present maximum exposure and visibility. At approximately 8:00 / 8:05 p.m. we take a 20 / 25 minute break during which a small assortment of refreshments and snacks are provided and to allow time for interested participants to converse with the Speaker. Then the group is called back together and we begin a meditation which lasts approximately 20 / 25 min. There is no particular form of meditation that is favored as each is encouraged to meditate in our own way. The meditation environment is always somewhat varied. Usually soft music or chanting is provided gently in the background. There is always a powerful healing energy present and participants are encouraged to assist in directing this energy towards the healing of themselves, others, the planet, and All that Is. Toward the end of the meditation period there is sometimes a short energy sharing experience as Emmanuelle (Emmy) speaks through Simon Hunt. After the meditation, the lights are brought up slowly, and as time permits, meditation experiences are shared. The Gatherings end reasonably close to 9 PM. We adhere to this schedule as much as possible as some of our participants drive a good distance in order to attend, and others have to awaken quite early the next day.
